K-8 Scholastic Championships

This month's K-8 tournament was an exciting display of all the talent that the participants have! It was full of close calls and draws and all the players showed their awesome chess skills! Everyone who came out had a wonderful time!

The K-8 section was the epitome of good sportsmanship and friendly tournaments. After all, it is all about having fun. Ethan Cushman earned a perfect score of 4 out of 4 points! Anibal Loureda got 3 points and Eddie Li was very close behind with 2.5 points! Alexander Zhelonkin and Giacomo Lowenstine took 4th and 5th place with 1.5 points and 1 point respectively!

The K-5 section saw some great sportmanship between the 7 players. Asher Beck and Desislava Gale both received 3 out of 4 points each but were closely followed by Tegh Singh and Anika Bhat with 2.5 points each! Tim Paruvangada and Asa Fleischer each earned 2 points and Jamie Schwarz had 1 point.

The K-2 section was the largest section with 9 players. Everyone played 4 fantastic rounds. In 1st place was Max Ingargiola with 4 out of 4 points and Avery Beck and Kate Liu tied for second with 3 points. Tristan Gemelli, Dave Paruvangada, Arjun Nair, and Sauraj Singh all tied for 3rd place with 2 points and Peter Gale and Aaron Cushman tied for 4th place with 1 point each!
