Match:  Critelli v. Lowinger

June 23rd

As preparation for the World Open, CCFC Director Daniel Lowinger put out a call challenging someone to a two game match with a time control of G/60.  Cornell student James Critelli accepted the challenge and the two faced off in an intense struggle.  Although Critelli had a rating advantage, he had not played a tournament in over a year.  Despite his inactivity from chess, he successfully defeated Lowinger in the first game.  With some time to regroup, Lowinger came back fighting in the second game and equalized the score!
