Sunday G/30 Quads


Today's Sunday G/30 Quads tournament featured 5 highly competitive quads and a middle swiss section! Starting in Quad 1, CCFC Member Bryan Weisz came out on top with a pefect score of 3/3 points! His last round against CCFC Member Jack Klein featured an exciting sideline of the Fried Liver Attack, in which Weisz was able to stop a promoted queen with a knight and rook! In Quad 2, NJ Player Nader Rawshani strongly won his section with a perfect score of 3/3 points! This is also Rawshani's first ever quads at CCFC, congratulations!

In Quad 3, there was a two-way tie for first between CCFC Member Max Zhang and NY Player Tobias Welhaven-Romano! Both drew the section with a score of 2.5/3 points, only drawing against eavh other in round 3. This is also Welhaven-Romano's first USCF rated tournament at CCFC, congrats on the win! The middle swiss section was won by CCFC Member Kai Le Tourneau. He won with a score of 2.5/3 points, only drawing against NY Player Jason He in round 1! There was a two-way tie for second place between CCFC Member Jaryd Malbin and NY Player Elizabeth Zhou, both ending the tournament with 2/3 points!

In Quad 5, CCFC Member Alex Fuchs won with a score of 2.5/3 points, only drawing in round 1 against CCFC Member Anik Muthyapu! Finally, in Quad 6, CT Player Tori Turner and CCFC Member Avik Muthyapu tied for first with a score of 2.5/3 points! The winners of the quad only drew against each other in an intense round 2 match! This is Turner's first ever USCF rated tournament, and Muthyapu's second quad tournament at CCFC, well done to our newcomers!
