Friday Night Action

Tonight we unveiled our newest addition to the club, two brand new DGT electronic boards. These boards allow us to transmit the moves to a computer and then upload the games onto our website for live viewing! It was a battle to the top in a highly competitive six player swiss. The most critical match was in round two when NMs Ian Harris and Daniel Lowinger faced off. Harris won a pawn in a highly theoretical opening sequence and in return Lowinger pressed against Harris’ misplaced King for the entire game. Fortunately for Harris he was able to survive and eventually won in the ensuing time scramble. His work was not done yet as he faced expert Alex Eydelman in the final round. Eydelman came out swinging but Harris swung back harder and eventually broke through to Eydelman’s king to win the game and the tournament!
