K-5 Scholastic Championships

With the holiday weekend, the turnout for our September K-5 was a bit low, however it was still ultra-competitive. The ratings of the players ranged from 200 – 800. Jason Lessing started off on a tear, defeating a 700 and an 800. He faltered in round 3, losing to the dangerous Brent McCreesh. McCreesh took over the lead, but lost a crucial last round game to Thomas Ewald. This set up a massive four way tie for first place between McCreesh, Lessing, Thomas Ewald and William Ewald. Jason Lessing won first place among the students in grades K-2 while Thomas Ewald took top honors (on tie-breaks) in the 3-5 section!
